are put on a yearly
calendar to minimize
weeds and maximize
beauty. The following
list outlines just
a few aspects of
lawn care maintenance
that we are able
to do during each
month of the year.
January
Spray any weeds in both warm and cool
season grasses with post-emergent herbicide.
Cut back Liriope.
Prune shrubs that need shaping.
Fertilize fescue.
Dead head annuals.
February
Apply pre-emergent to Bermuda, Zoysia.
Apply pre-emergent
with fertilizer to Fescue.
Continue with post-emergent weed
control.
Prune Crape Myrtles.
March
Apply spring fertilization for trees and
shrubs as necessary.
Resume regular mowing schedule.
Continue with post-emergent
weed control.
April
Apply second application of pre-emergent
with fertilizer for all types of turf.
Prune new growth
on shrubs.
Resume weekly maintenance schedule for all types
of turf.
Change out annuals for spring and summer.
May
Prune shrubs and trees that need shaping
or have excess new growth.
Monitor turf and beds for insects/ants.
Continue full maintenance.
June
Inspect turf and shrubs for signs of disease
or insect damage.
Apply high nitrogen fertilizer for warm
season turf.
Apply balanced fertilizer for fescue.
Prune shrubs.
July
Deadhead annuals.
Continue full maintenance.
Apply post-emergent weed control.
Apply fungicides if necessary.
August
Apply proper fertilizer to turf and shrubs
as needed.
Prune shrubs.
Continue full maintenance
September
Fall aeration, overseeding, and fertilization
for fescue.
Lime applications.
Continue full maintenance.
Dead head annuals.
October
Continue full maintenance.
Begin leaf removal.
Apply fall pre-emergent application
for warm season grasses.
